Excited To Grow

There's no such thing as good information or bad information.  Someone decides for himself what he does with that information.  A person chooses.  That is the only thing that a person does.  A smart person looks at as much information as he can consume and makes a well-formed decision based on that.  A stupid person makes a decision based on impulse and desire.  A smart person can take a very tragic event like death and turn it into a positive, life-changing experience.  If a person blames any behaviour or scenario on a tragic event only does so because she is unable to learn from that event and it's going to haunt her for the rest of her life!

I'm going through a transition right now.  I can feel it.  It excites me for so many things.  My ideas, thoughts and beliefs are coming together, forming one solid tenet about the world around me.  It's so compelling because I see colliding theories all over the place.  Ideas I believe to be isolated to a specific scenario, I'm able to transplant to totally different scenarios with amazing results.  I have the same thoughts about ideas that people have when they say "it's a small world"; our world is perceived as too complex.

I'm not making blakid so I can tell people how to run their life.  I'm making it so I can ask my fellow human beings, the people I call family, friends or "associates" questions that I'm unable to ask in person.  I'm not perfect, in fact I am able to see my flaws and it kills me that I'm unable to just get over them.  But I still want to know things, and if it's not okay to say them in person, I'll go to other methods of communication.  The internet offers choice, people that don't care to know or voice their opinion don't have to, as well as true freedom, I'm not going to judge anyone, nor put anyone down.  I simply want to know a little bit more information.

Our lives have become way too complex.  It's like one huge drama-fest that I want to get out of.  But I can't, unless I live in a shack somewhere, secluded from all traces of civilization.  I don't want to do that.  I like people so much.  I want to try to simplify my life a little bit more, but I'm not organized to do that.  I'm too stubborn as a person to let someone win a useless argument, let alone admit that I've maybe made a illogical choice that I now have to deal with.  I wish I could have the courage to just say it.  Just say things that I am thinking and really want to say.  But usually I let the words get in the way.  I can't make my thoughts sound out loud anything like how they're played in my head.

I'm on my way to becoming a smart person, I can feel it.  I'm a person built upon morals and true values, not selfish desires and quick impulses.  I think twice before I speak and know when to pick a fight.  I strive to learn a little bit more and to become a better person overall.  I treat the people I love and care about (and most of the people I don't) with the utmost respect and dignity.  I give people second, third, fourth, fifth chances...  I don't care what he did in the past (for the most part), I will trust a man's word and give him an honest chance to redeem himself.

The list could go on for a long time, but the one trait of myself that I like the most is the ability to make a lot of people laugh.  It happens differently for different people, but the sound of laughter is my absolute favourite.  Loud laughs, quiets laughs, funny sounding laughs, snorts, tears, old man laughs, little baby girl laughs, my laugh, your laugh.  Laughing is awesome!  I like making people laugh at my expense, I have no problem with that.  Hearing someone laugh reminds me that everything will be alright.  Tomorrow will come and I will be here.  Simple as that.

Community Forums go LIVE!

I've been doing a lot of thinking lately, as I sometimes do, and I can't help but think that it's going to be a task and a half to help people understand how their world works.  I don't want to be a preacher or consider myself a messiah.  I want people to come to my site and learn things for themselves.  I want people to see as I see, and in turn there will be no other option then to know that something has to be done about our situation we're in.  And it has to start with the people that are being played.

The puppeteers of our lives will continue to control us for as long as possible.  They are busy fighting the war on our minds more than we care to take notice.  We need to give up our obedience and instead start focusing on our own goals, ambitions and values.  Start living your life for yourself, not for someone else.

Website Progress

Today's post is going to be relatively short.

I added some RSA Animate videos to the Media section.  These videos are 10-12 minutes long and offer a different perspective and offer solid ideas.  Worth checking out.

Another note: Thanks to my friend Jake for making the logo.  I think it looks great.

Special thanks to Julia for letting me use her photography for my website as well.

Redefining My Life

I've started my journey.  I'm reorganizing my life to start living the values I believe.  I'm contacted the people in my local Chapter and want to make that website a little better.  I'm going to start going to/organizing weekly meetings.  The notes from these meetings I'll post both here and at the Nanaimo Chapter website as well.

I'm going to try to make as many people aware of this movement as I can.  I don't think that we will ever live in a resource based economy like the Venus Project predicts, but I do think that if enough people are aware of this project and strive to make this world just a little bit better, one person at a time we can create a better tomorrow.

I've also been participating on discussion boards, especially on Facebook.  I've seen a lot of different perspectives of this project that I will want to discuss here eventually.  This website will also be a place for me to post about other aspects of my life.  I pull a lot of information from many different sources and sometimes talking about different issues might bring around positive social change.  *thumbs up*

I'm always open to positive criticism.  I would rather be proven wrong and change my ideas than believe a lie.

Values and Goals

BY: ChiefQualakon

I have finished the "Values and Goals of The Venus Project" article page.  It's your one stop shop for all the ideas and values proposed by Jacque Fresco through The Venus Project.

Please be aware that I do not claim these to be my original ideas.  These thoughts are created by Jacque Fresco.  My ideas are a little bit more organic.  I do not think that every single goal and value proposed within those pages will become reality, but I do believe that if we work on achieving these goals individually, we will see a massive, positive social change in the way our society conducts business.  The standard of living and the access to much needed supplies and resources would be the same for all citizens of Earth.

My journey begins with me understanding the values and goals that The Venus Project proposes.  Knowledge is neither good or bad, it's what you do with it that knowledge that makes it good or bad.  Once I can understand where we are going, I have to understand where we came from.  Understand the building up of our society, our civilization.  Once that is complete, I can start the transition.  The changes in my life to make me contribute more to humanity while staying true to my honour, values and beliefs.  Along my journey, things may change.  But for now, it's onward towards the cities of the future.
